Suddenly had this desire to want to be on a mountain.. to be on top of the world, to spend time with God. Just like Pastor Phil and just like Jesus.
Jesus and Pastor Phil had very real encounters with the Holy Spirit and with God on the mountain. I can just imagine that, with that kind of stillness and peacefulness up there on top of the mountain where everything's around me is so beautiful. Wow~
But well.. in Singapore the highest mountain i can climb is only bt timah hill and with the thought of Mas Selamat hiding around and reappearing ANYTIME in front of me.. Hai forget it. BUT maybe i will climb some other mountains elsewhere.. Mt everest? Haha.. i'll need to train up myself first. One day i will climb the mountain! ok that's my longterm goal for now.
Some of the things i'll be doing/intend to do after my exams
1. Sentosa retreat with LOG! (right after exams!)
2. Piano Audition
3. Celebrate ron's bday(16th May)
4. LOUD CAMP!! (1st week of June)
5. Taiwan Grad trip!! (2-8th July)
6. Meet up with ex-N107 members
7. Compose 2 songs
8. Cycle @ Pula Ubin with my cg members
9. Tree top trail outreach or prayer walk
10. Take up ballroom dance lessons with Ron
11. Complete grade 8 theory
12. Read at least 3 books during my break
And these are my short-term goals for now.
I had this revelation yesterday that "God is a God of new things." He wants to constantly do a new work in my life, bring me new encounters, new experiences and even new places. Walking with God is not something that is routined and religious but fun, exciting with ever-new and ever-changing encounters and experiences!
Staying open to God is so important, God cannot pour new wine into our lives unless we first have a new wineskin. As we grow older, sometimes it's uncomfortable to step out to try new things or even build new friendships. Some say there's not enough time, some say there's too many commitments and some even say "i'm too tired to try.. "To me, all these are just plain excuses and it's not what God wants to hear from us. Complaceny is not what God wants in us.
We never know what's over the other side of the mountain unless we first step out and climb the mountain. We never know what are the greater things that God can work through us and has instored for our lives unless we stay open to Him and are willing to try. And God always work through willing people.
So staying open to new things and step out or be complacent and remain in comfort zone?
I choose the first.
